Tradition. Even though our distillery is still very young, this whiskey reflects a lot of tradition. It is produced according to the traditional law for the production of bourbon whiskey using a traditional Styrian corn variety.
The label is based on an oil painting by the painter Herbert Forstner. It shows the traditional Styrian Sulmtaler chicken, which is the unofficial heraldic animal of the Sulmtal.
The Sulmtaler chicken is a descendant of the Styrian land chicken, which was native to western Styria. From 1900, breeding was forced and the breed was recognized by the Styrian state government, particularly recommended for the Styrian corn growing regions. And thus the circle of tradition and starting product closes again.
When looked at from this perspective, this whiskey is a typical Styrian product.
